• ESF-FWF Conference in Partnership with LFUI
Nanotechnology for Sustainable Energy, 4-9 July 2010, Universitätszentrum Obergurgl (near Innsbruck), Austria
Topical areas covered by this conference are those where Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (N&N) will, or may, have an impact on the development of a sustainable energy system, including environmental aspects. The conference includes both basic science of relevance for energy/environmental technology and more application oriented research. The objective is to gather experts in the respective fields at one conference, with the aim to make both an inventory and exposure of the state-of-the-art N&N based energy research, technologies and opportunities. • ESF-FMSH Entre-Sciences Conference in partnership with UPCAM
Global Change Research II: Environmental Crisis, Energy Issues and Global Regulation Policies 11-16 June 2010, IGESA, Porquerolles Island, France
In continuity with the 2008 conference “Global Change Research I”, focused on climate modelling and risks/impacts estimation, the second conference of the series will examine the deep interaction between the environmental crisis (climate change, urbanization/land use, exhaustion of resources, degradation of ecosystems) and the energy production and use. Application is now open, for more information please click here.

• The event will be hosted at the “Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture”. The Course will review critical materials issues for the production and storage of renewable and sustainable energy. The aim of the course is to present the state-of-the-art and future perspectives for materials applied to the production and storing of renewable and sustainable energy. It will be a great opportunity for bringing together worldwide students, young scientists and experts in a friendly atmosphere for reciprocal benefits in terms of enthusiasm, knowledge and new ideas.
